Designed as a comfortable place to sit alone or with a loved one, The Nook offers a gentle sense of enclosure without feeling heavy. Its form is warm, inviting, and quietly elegant — a piece that encourages stillness, shared moments, and unhurried time.

At the heart of The Nook is its sculpted seat — a natural, flowing form shaped and refined by hand. Travishers, spokeshaves, and card scrapers are used to soften the surfaces and edges, leaving behind subtle tactile variations that quietly speak of the making process.

The legs are first turned to shape before being refined further by hand with a spokeshave, creating softened facets and gentle irregularities that give the piece its handmade character. Traditional round mortice and tenon joints are secured with contrasting walnut wedges, revealing rather than hiding the construction.

The Nook measures approximately 120 cm in length, with a seat height of 45 cm.

Each piece is made to order using an ash seat and beech legs as standard. Timber choices can be discussed as part of the commission.
